Aum Sri Sairam

Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations ~ Tamil Nadu

Women devotees in the Sai Movement are participating in large numbers enthusiastically in service activities such as helping  the women of weaker sections to learn some useful trades like tailoring, etc., so that they can earn some money for the family and also spend their time usefully. If such activities are taken up all over the country, the country will prosper. This sacred work is typical of the culture of our ancient country. Women are the heirs of our ancient culture. Culture means refinement. Women are the torch-bearers of refinement and they are toiling for the emancipation of the nation.

Sathya Sai Speaks Vol 31/Chapter 13

With the Divine Blessings of our beloved Bhagawan the Valedictory Function for the 8th Batch of Beneficiaries was held at Sundaram on 9th June 2018. This Vocational Training Centre was started in 2008 to empower the economically weaker sections of women. The unique feature of the Vocational Training Centres of Chennai South is that, the centres have been started at different places and localities to cater to the needs of beneficiaries.

Bhagawan has frequently said that, “Do not wait for the loved ones to come to you, you reach out to the needy of the society far and near and shower your love and affection.”. This is the motto of our VTC and beneficiaries have acquired skills in Computer, Office Automation, Tailoring, Hand Embroidery, Handicrafts and Spoken English through the courses conducted at the Vocational Training Centres.

The Chief Guest, Dr M. Aarthi, I.A.S., Managing Director of Tamilnadu Industries Infrastructure Corporation Ltd., handed over Sewing machines to the beneficiaries who had successfully completed the Tailoring course. Certificates for course completion were awarded to 35 beneficiaries across various skill sets.  The Action plan for the new batches to be started on June 19th was also announced. Beneficiaries spoke as to how by attending these courses they have gained Self-confidence, Spiritual enhancement and also extra monetary help for the entire family.
