The recent lock down due to corona pandemic has left the poor inhabitants of Kodaikanal absolutely impoverished. Lack of tourists and total stoppage of carriage to the hilly town has made the situation more horrid. Sathya Sai Seva Organisation provided groceries and helped the people
Sri Sathya Sai Samithi of Kodaikanal prepared Amrutha Kalasams Kits containing dry rations- Rice, Wheat, Thoor Dhal, Sugar, salt, oil, Sambar Powder, Coconut and Tea Powder for a family of four persons sufficient for 15 days were distributed to 1065 families. The packed bags were procured from Theni district – foothills of Kodai and special permission from the Government agencies were sought to transport these materials. The packed bags were then handed over to the Commissioner of the municipality who deputed their volunteers for its distribution. The distribution group reached various hamlets in and around Kodaikanal town and handed over Bhagawan’s Prasadam.
Sri Sathya Sai Trust-Tamilnadu have also extended the usage of water tanker lorry for the next 25 days by the government agencies to supply potable water to the residents of Kodaikanal
