Pilgrimage/Historical Tour of Group III Balvikas children on the occasion 25th year of completion of Balvikas Centre, Beedupalli Village, Prasanthigram, Anantapur District.


By the grace of Bhagawan Baba, 11 girl students and 5 boy students of Group III, along with three senior members including Balvikas Guru, Saradamma, went on a pilgrimage/historical tour to Kerala and part of Tamil Nadu. The journey commenced on 19.5.2018, at 8 a.m. from Prasanthi Nilayam and returned on 26.5.2018.


A brief report of the pilgrimage:


20.5.2018 – Visited Tipu Sultan Fort (constructed in 1766 AD), Malampuzha dam(the second largest reservoir in Kerala) in Palakkad.


 21.5.2018 – Visited Lord Venkateswara temple in Nellissery village, Guruvayur Sri Krishna temple (At the end of Dwapara Yuga, the Sri Krishna idol worshipped  by Lord Brahma was handed over to Guru and Vayu to install  the same at a suitable place.  Guru and Vayu went around and found a suitable place for installation of this idol. Since it was installed by Guru and Vayu, this place came to be known as Guruvayur.), Vadakkunathan temple of Lord Siva, Paramakavu temple of Bhagawati, Sri Krishna temple of Tirivambadi.


The Trichur Samity of Sri Sathya Sai Seva organization has undertaken a programme of chanting Rudram 1008 times from 21.5.2018 to 31.10.2018.  On the day of commencement of this programme, Balvikas children had the opportunity to chant Rudram.  The Convenor and other devotees of the Samithi were very happy to have with them.


 22.5.2018 – Visited Kalady, the birth place of Adi Sankara, on the banks of Poorna River.   It was reminded of Bhajagovindam composed by Adi Sankara Varu.


23.5.2018 – Visited Sri Padmanabha Swamy temple, Thiruvananthapuram .( One has to worship the deity through three doors, namely  Thirumukha (face), Thiruvudal (body) and Thruppada (Lotus Feet) tended by Goddess Lakshmi. ), Trivandrum Zoo, Sankumukham beach and  airport.


24.5.2018 – Visited Suchindram temple (It is unique in the whole of India in that it is dedicated to three different deities represented by one image in the sanctum and is called Sthanumalayan (Sthanu-Shiva; Maal-Vishnu and Ayan-Brahma), Anjaneya Temple, Shiridi Sai temple.

25.5.2018 – Visited Devi temple in Kanyakumari, beach, had a boat ride to Vivekananda rock memorial which is about 500 metres from the sea shore and

 Nagaraja temple at Nagarcoil.   


Each day started with Nagar Sankirtan along with other devotees of the Samithi/Bhajan mandali, veda chanting and Bhajans. And also participated in Nama Sankeerthana at elderly devotee houses of Bhagawan, and in temples.


By Swamis grace, accommodation and food was arranged by devotees at all the places. Throughout the journey there was no hurdles – no rain, no children fell sick, no train reservation issues.


Children learnt/observed cleanliness, discipline, dress code, ceiling on desires and courage of Swami Vivekananda. They were sincere, truthful and obedient throughout the trip.
