BRIEF REPORT ON VISIT OF ALL INDIA PRESIDENT AND THE NATIONAL TEAM
By Grace of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, a Team of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, India led by the All India President, Sri Nimish Pandya accompanied by All India Vice President Sri N.Ramani and Sri Sathya Sai VidyaVahini Coordinator Sri Sathyajit made a visit to Srinagar in Jammu & Kashmir with an objective of exploring the avenues of multi dimensional ‘Seva’ in the valley of Kashmir. The team was constituted with the State Presidents Sri Siva Kumar Sarma of Jammu & Kashmir, Sri V.K.Kapoor of Punjab, Sri Ramesh Sawant of Maharashtra & Goa, Sri Jatinder Cheema of Delhi NCR, State Trust Convener of UP&Uttarakhand Sri Raveesh Khanna, National Coordinators Smt Kamala Pandya, Ms.Neetha Khanna, Smt Dr L. SasiBala, Sri S.Sundar, Sri S.KoteswaraRao,State Vice President of Punjab Sri Maneendar Sing, State Sevadal Coordinator of Punjab Sri Surender Mahajan, Youth Coordinator of Punjab Sri Pundareek,Youth Members from Punjab Sri Tanveer and Tusharand members from VidyaVahini Sri Gupta, Sri Aditya and Sri Abhinav.
It was during the floods that devastated the beautiful Valley, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation very quickly swung into rescue and relief operations and a contingent of Sevadal members led by Sri Maninder Sing of Punjab supported by SSSSO of every state. The kind of selfless service done by Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations drew attention of different cross sections of Kashmir Society. Even the Police Department invited Disaster Management Team of SSSSO to train the personnel of Police Department and SSSSO imparted Disaster Management training on 4th and 5th April, in which 51 members of the Jammu & Kashmir state police force received extensive training in rescue and recovery operations in various scenarios like Hurricanes, Floods, Earthquake, Landslides etc. As the relief activities continued by SSSSO, the All India President led the Team from SSSSO with an objective to expand the dimension of Service Activities from relief to medical and educational with the assistance from some of the educational institutions who have been the beneficiaries of the previous Service Activities rendered by SSSSO and by collaborating with some of the accommodative and broadminded intellectuals, Volunteers and Service oriented Institutions, who joined hands with SSSSO during the ‘Seva’ of Flood Rescue and Relief.
The Team from SSSSO landed in Srinagar Airport at 5-30 PM on 9th April, 2016 was well received with warmth of Love by the Pilot Team arrived from Punjab and by members of Spring Buds Educational Trust, which was founded by Sri Qureshi in the year 1961 in Ompura of Budgam District, a suburb of Srinagar and has been running several educational institutions in and around Srinagar. Members of this trust have been working together in the service activities undertaken by SSSSO, from the beginning. The team was conducted around the Educational Institutions of Spring Buds Educational Trust and taken to Srinagar. Later in the night, a Power Point Presentation was shown by the Spring Buds Educational Trust about various Service Activities undertaken by them in about 25 villages around Ompura and in Srinagar.
On 10th of April, 2016 the SSSSO Team led by the All India President, Sri Nimish Pandya was escorted to the famous Tagore Memorial Hall, in Srinagar for a planned event to distribute 500 Kits of School Bags, Note books, Pens, Pencils and such. In all there were 2500 School Kits were distributed by SSSSO with the help of Spring Buds Educational Trust. The event was planned on a mega scale and in addition to distribution of School Kits, it was also planned to provide the SSSSO of Jammu & Kashmir with a Mobile Medical Van, sponsored by Maharashtra, which would be operated jointly by SSSSO of J&K and Spring Buds Educational Trust. The Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir, Dr.Asgar Hassan Samoon.,I.A.S graced the event as the Chief Guest, Sri Muhammad Ibrahim Wani, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Budgam and the Deputy Superintendent of Police of Srinagar, Sri Javeed Ahmed and few other luminaries of Srinagar were the Guests of Honour. As if Bhagavan was prompting the inner voice, everyone who spoke on the occasion, just reproduced Bhagavan’s concepts on Seva, Health, Education, Quality of Life, Values, Unity, Purity and Divinity. The All India President, Sri Nimish Pandya, in his address, which drew a whole hearted vibrant applause from everyone in the audience, very comprehensively sketched the magnificence of the incarnation of Divinity in the form of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba and the inimitable service projects undertaken by Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust and Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation. It was a pleasant surprise for all the members of SSSSO team to know that the Divisional Commissioner started his career as Sub-Collector in Bhadrachalam of Khammam District in the composite Andhra Pradesh and served for over 5 years in AP prior to getting repatriated to the parent state. He is fully aware of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, and the Services rendered by Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations. He promised in his speech of his commitment to everything possible in order to intensify the Seva Activities of SSSSO, in Srinagar. Distribution of School Kits by the Guests, was conducted amidst the smiling faces of 100s of children, Parents, Teachers and Intellectuals.
Two girls and Two Boys, randomly drawn from the Students also spoke unfolding the real desire of every child in Kashmir to have peace, happiness, unity, education, health and universal brotherhood. They have very firmly reiterated that they would never desire bullets and bloodshed. It was a very touching narrative by all of them that should change the course of life in Srinagar. Sri Sathyajit took over to explain the concept and focus of Sri Sathya Sai VidyaVahini transforming the education in India, particularly the Rural India as VidyaVahini aims at delivering education that is Insightful, Inspiring, Enjoyable and Participative. Later, Sri Sathya Sai Mobile Medical Van was handed over by Sri Nimish Pandya, the All India President and Sri Ramesh Sawanth, State President of Maharashtra & Goa to Sri Qureshi founder of Spring Buds Educational Trust and Sri Siva Kumar Sarma, State President of SSSSO, Jammu and Kashmir for a collaborative Medical Service in and around Srinagar and Villages with support from SSSSO of the neighbouring states.
Later in the evening of 10th April, 2016, members of Help Poor Voluntary Trust of Srinagar founded in 1998, led by the President Sri Farooq Ahmad Bhat and the Director of Rahim Group of Companies, Sri Abdul Hamid Bhat, who is also a member of International Association for Volunteer Efforts met the All India President Sri Nimish Pandya and team from SSSSO. Sri ShanavazShafi, Secretary of Help Poor Voluntary Trust gave an elaborate presentation on the kind of Medical Service Activities organised on continuous basis by the trust which include Trauma Care, Intensive Care, emergency surgeries and other spending more than Rs 2 crores per annum. He has further explained the challenges the trust is facing and scarcity of drugs and such other. They requested for the support from SSSSO by way of Medicines and other medical necessities in order to take the Medical Service Activities further.
Deputy Superintendent of Police of Srinagar, Sri Javeed Ahmed joined the team for dinner and requested for Training Programs to be given to Police personnel and others too on Response, Rescue and Relief during Disasters and promised to coordinate with Higher Officials to immediately commence the programs by the Disaster Management Team of SSSSO.
